The Wellcome Trust is currently refurbishing 183 Euston Road, the Trust’s former headquarters and original home of the Wellcome Library, to create a new public venue that offers an intelligent and experimental look at the science, history and culture of medicine. Opening fully in spring 2007, the new venue aims to provide a mind-opening, exciting and entertaining experience.
Over the coming months, the building will be transformed to house:
- permanent and temporary exhibition spaces showcasing a unique mixture of science, art and history
- an innovative and flexible events space for performances, debates and talks
- the world-famous Wellcome Library with its vast and rich collections based around the history of medicine
- conference facilities, a bookshop, café and browsing area
- the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at UCL
