The Chelsea Physic Garden was founded in 1673 by the Society of Apothecaries to study the therapeutic properties of plants. Displays include plants used in present day pharmaceuticals and a Garden of World Medicine showing the use of plants by indigenous peoples. In addition there are many rare plants and a rock garden from 1773.
Admission Details
- Open April-October on Sunday 12.00-18.00 and Wednesday 12.00-17.00
- Also open for Physic Garden Christmas Fair, Sunday 4 December 2005 11.00-17.00 & Special Winter Openings Sunday 5 February & Sunday 12 February 2006, 11.00-15.00
- Admission charge (limited concessions)
