X-ray voted best science discovery

Medical objects dominated the public's vote in this Autumn's  Science Museum poll of the most important scientific discoveries in history. Xrays came first, Penicillin came second and the DNA double helix came third. Visitors rated breakthroughs in computing and space exploration less highly.
