'Victorian Pharmacy' documentary series begins on BBC2 - Posted 12 July 2010

A new series called Victorian Pharmacy starts on Thursday 15th July at 9pm on BBC2. The 4-part series features pharmacist Professor Nick Barber, alongside historians Ruth Goodman and Tom Quick, experiencing life and work in a 19th century pharmacy.  Filmed at Blist’s Hill in Shropshire, research for the series was supported by the Museum of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and Briony Hudson, Keeper of the Museum Collections, features in episodes 2 and 3.

Also watch for an appearance by Professor Stanley Gelbier, honorary curator at the BDA Dental Museum, who features as a dentist.

UK residents will be able to catch episodes of Victorian Pharmacy on BBC iPlayer.
